With their almost comical grins and gazing, glass eyes, Weymss Ware’s feline curiosities can fetch a substantial sum at auction. A large Weymss Ware cat sold at auction in Edinburgh in 2022 for £2,000, owing to its bright yellow glaze, unusual pattern and the fact it was produced at the turn of the 20th century.

For comparison, a similar pump in similar condition sold for a whopping $4,800 at Morphy Auctions in 2022. The glass even has a special light-reactive quality, glowing yellow in daylight, a rare and beautiful feature. Honestly, I think this one could have easily gone for double that or more if it had the original globe intact.
