There are many deeply problematic qualities about AI which are especially troubling in the context of its misapplication to appraising. In some instances Google reverse image searches can be a helpful tool if critical analysis is later applied to review results, such as trying to identify the artist of an illegibly signed print.

Another issue to keep in mind is what medium you'd like to purchase: a wide range is available including original works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastels, graphite as well as printed works including etchings, lithographs, silkscreens, and digital prints. Salvador Dali prints should not be touched with a ten-foot-pole.
