We used 2 5/8 inch galvanized chain link fence posts for the vertical supports and a smaller diameter 1 5/8 inch of the same material to support the shelves. Determine if you need climate-controlled storage for what you are collecting; works on paper will need it, but ceramics may not. The drawers hold plastic tubs for storage.
