A white lining that has faded to a universal yellowish tint is a telltale sign of age while yellowing due to sweat marks is more of a condition issue. Sloppy stitching, poor printing, and cheap materials are all obvious signs of a fake. What about vintage examples in poor condition? Always look for markedly vintage caps.
