He was a Scottish artist of Italian heritage, who lived in Paris, and was established in Chelsea. May I say that I really like this owl painting, would you tell me something more about it ? It’s a 1920s oil painting of a Tawny Owl by Lodewijk Van Der Steen 1891-1954, circa 1928. He was an extraordinary figure within British art.

Audubon had hired Kidd to make a number of oil paintings of his Birds of America. My mother had once worked as a salesgirl at a prep school bookstore.so
